Peruvian officials and the Congress are coordinating legislative efforts to advance the country’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). 

During a workshop regarding the role of Congress in this process, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eric Anderson reported that a delegation from the OECD’s Accession Coordination Unit is visiting the country to maintain technical and political momentum. Official reports indicate that Peru has achieved approximately 40% progress in the accession process, with 13 of 25 working groups and seven of 23 evaluation committees having formally approved their respective stages.
