Initial recommendations emphasized managing stress and dietary transitions, such as slowly introducing new foods or providing quiet environments to mitigate gastrointestinal disturbances. Experts advised against using human medications, suggesting instead that owners use pet-specific supplements or consult veterinarians for fiber-enhanced options. Subsequent focus has shifted toward the clinical importance of feline nutrition in managing chronic gastrointestinal inflammatory diseases. Experts warn that persistent symptoms—such as weight loss, lethargy, or disturbances lasting over three weeks—require clinical diagnosis to prevent malnutrition. Dietary management is noted as a primary treatment tool, with significant improvements seen in cats with chronic enteropathies through the use of specific nutrients like omega fatty acids, flaxseed, and antioxidants. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-30: Feline digestive health and the importance of nutrition Feline digestive health is vital for immunity.
