Local authorities in various Italian municipalities are organizing free microchipping events to promote responsible pet ownership and aid in animal identification.

In late September and early October, initiatives were announced for Albano Laziale, involving the Municipality, ASL Roma 6, and Fare Ambiente, as well as Porto Torres, where veterinarians from ASL di Sassari offered services with advance booking requirements.

By late October, the Municipality of Sassari and the Asl Sassari Department of Prevention scheduled a free microchipping event for dogs on October 28. This specific initiative aimed to combat the issue of stray animals and operated on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 40 dogs.
