Musician Peter Gabriel has announced the release of his eleventh studio album, titled ‘O/I’, which serves as a companion piece to his 2023 album ‘i/o’. Together, the two projects form a 25-song body of work developed over several years.

The release follows an unconventional lunar calendar schedule, where new and full moons mark the appearance of different mixes or new songs. The album is described as a substantial project consisting of four CDs and two separate vinyl records.

Lyrical themes include the relationship between humanity and nature, the passage of time, and the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and brain-computer interfaces. One featured track, ‘A Hard Lesson’, incorporates polyrhythms inspired by music structures from Gabriel’s time in Senegal during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
