Petronas has entered into several strategic energy agreements. In the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area, Petronas Carigali’s PC JDA and PTTEP subsidiaries signed a 35-year production sharing contract for Block A-18-01. This agreement, effective January 1, 2026, includes a gas sales agreement to split natural gas output equally between Thailand and Malaysia.

Separately, PETRONAS LNG Ltd. signed a Master Sales and Purchase Agreement with the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC). This framework is intended to ensure a stable supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Japan during emergencies, reinforcing Petronas’s role as a long-term supplier to the Japanese market.
