In September 2026, several leadership transitions occurred within the Philippine National Police regional offices.

Police Brigadier General Rudecindo L. Reales assumed command of the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) on September 7, succeeding Police Brigadier General Romano Cardiño. Reales, who oversees Negros and Siquijor, indicated a focus on “returning to basics,” increasing police visibility, and ensuring officer accountability.

Later in the month, on September 29, Police Brigadier General Benigno L. Guzman assumed the role of Acting Regional Director for Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) in Davao City. Guzman introduced a strategic framework centered on crime prevention, community engagement, and capability development, while emphasizing that “authority must always come with accountability.”
