Pirelli has developed the P Zero R, a bespoke ultra-high-performance tire designed specifically for the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+ official FIA Formula 1 Safety Car.

Co-developed with Mercedes-AMG engineers in Affalterbach using virtual simulation, the 21-inch tire features a dual-compound tread. The design accounts for the vehicle’s suspension geometry, camber, and its fully variable all-wheel-drive system to manage rapid load transfers. The tire aims to provide high levels of grip, steering precision, and stability in both dry and wet conditions.

Real-world testing was conducted at the Nürburgring and Nardò circuits with official FIA Formula 1 Safety Car driver Bernd Mayländer. This development marks the first time a P Zero R tire has been created specifically for a Mercedes-AMG model.
