The 24th edition of the Pisa Book Festival, held at the Arsenali Repubblicani and various historic sites, continues its focus on independent publishing and its role as the guest country for Ukraine. Program highlights include writer Luca Paoli, who is transitioning from poetry to noir fiction, and sessions by Paesi Edizioni on history and geopolitics. Ukrainian representation remains a central theme through presentations by Elena Kostioukovitch and Yaryna Grusha, alongside historical explorations of Ukrainian civilization. Other scheduled topics include the impact of artificial intelligence, US-EU trade tensions, and tributes to Nobel laureate Grazia Deledda. Expanding the festival’s cultural reach, the ‘Yellow&Blue’ exhibition has opened at Palazzo Blu in collaboration with Fondazione Pisa. Dedicated to Ukrainian illustrators, the exhibition features sixteen works by members of the Pictoric artistic group. The collection utilizes contemporary visual arts to present a mosaic of Ukraine, contrasting its traditional anthropological beauty and landscapes with the current realities of war and destruction. This exhibition is scheduled to remain open to the public until November 1. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-06: Pisa hosts Yellow&Blue exhibition featuring Ukrainian illustrators The Yellow&Blue exhibition at Palazzo Blu in Pisa showcases sixteen works by Ukrainian illustrators from the Pictoric group, highlighting the nation's cultural heritage and the impact of war. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pisa-hosts-yellowblue-exhibition-featuring-ukrainian-illustrators ### 2026-10-03: Pisa Book Festival celebrates independent publishing and Ukrainian culture The 24th Pisa Book Festival celebrates independent publishing with a program featuring international authors, historical lectures, and a special focus on Ukraine as the guest country. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pisa-book-festival-highlights-ukrainian-literature-and-history ### 2026-09-28: Pisa Book Festival features Luca Paoli and Paesi Edizioni debut The 24th Pisa Book Festival features writer Luca Paoli and the debut of Paesi Edizioni, highlighting themes of poetry, noir, and geopolitics, with Ukraine participating as a guest country. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pisa-book-festival-features-luca-paoli-and-paesi-edizioni-debut ### 2026-09-10: Pisa Book Festival to feature Ukraine as guest country The 24th Pisa Book Festival will run from October 2-4, featuring Ukraine as the guest country with a program focused on Ukrainian literature, history, and art. 17 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pisa-hosts-literary-festivals-and-charitable-book-events --- Cite as: Pisa Book Festival programming and Ukrainian exhibition.
