The Pokémon franchise is marking its 30th anniversary with various commemorative products and expansions. Initial celebrations included the release of special sets such as the ‘30th CELEBRATION Espeon and Umbreon Set’ and lottery-based card sales via the Pokémon Center Online.

Following these initial releases, a new expansion specifically for collectors was introduced. This set features a new rarity level termed ‘Futuristic Rare’ with illustrations by artist YOSHIROTTEN and includes a ‘Classic Collection’ that reprints 30 iconic cards. The expansion also features 30 rare Pikachu cards with varying time-of-day illustrations. While market efforts have been made to curb scalping, certain high-rarity items, such as the RGB Mew Secret Rares, have reached significant speculative values.
