Poland is preparing for the 2027 Matura high school exit exams, which are expected to see a record-breaking number of candidates. Projections from the Central Examination Commission indicate approximately 386,000 students will participate, a significant increase of over 140,000 compared to three years prior. This surge is attributed to demographic shifts and previous educational reforms.

As part of the examination structure, ‘Business and Management’ will be introduced as a new optional subject at the extended level for the 2026/2027 school year. This subject replaces ‘Foundations of Entrepreneurship’ and covers topics such as market economies, personal finance, and labor markets. 

Standard requirements for the 2027 exams include mandatory written tests in Polish, mathematics, and a modern foreign language, as well as oral exams. Students must also complete at least one additional subject at an extended level.
