Polish and Italian defense officials met in Warsaw to discuss bilateral security cooperation and the geopolitical situation, specifically regarding Ukraine and Russian activities targeting NATO airspace. Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto stated that defending the eastern flank is a “collective responsibility” for both nations.

Discussions also addressed defense industry cooperation and European Union initiatives to bolster defense capabilities. Concurrently, Polish President Karol Nawrocki scheduled meetings with defense leadership to address security concerns following Russian provocations near the Polish border, including drone strikes that damaged a locomotive on a Kyiv-Warsaw train near the Jagodzin station.
