Poland has implemented various funding measures to support rural safety and civil defense infrastructure. In early October, the ‘Bezpieczna Wieś’ (Safe Village) competition allocated nearly 23 million PLN to 1,792 rural Volunteer Fire Departments (OSP) via the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund. To prevent these funds from returning to the state treasury, the ministry is proposing regulatory changes to allow the redirection of unspent money toward other civil defense priorities, including firefighter equipment, communication systems, and early warning systems.
