Cultural and social integration initiatives between Poland and Ukraine have been held in Opole. An initial project, ‘Youth in Dialogue of Cultures – Actively, Together, Without Exclusion’, organized by the ‘Piastun’ Foundation for Children and Youth, brought together 35 young people with hearing impairments from the Opole region and the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of Ukraine. The program utilized workshops, excursions, and artistic activities to facilitate communication despite differences between Polish and Ukrainian sign languages. During a visit to the Marshal's Office of the Opole Voivodeship, Vice-Marshal Zuzanna Donath-Kasiura highlighted the importance of providing a peaceful environment for Ukrainian youth to develop away from the realities of war.

Following this, the Poland-Ukraine Culture Union 2026 was launched, running from August 23 to September 17. Organized by the Opole Branch of the Association for Cooperation Poland-East, this initiative focuses on intercultural integration through art, music, literature, and film rather than formal conference formats. Recent activities included an illustration exhibition by Lviv-born artist Natalia Nosova at the ŻAR Art House, art workshops, and outdoor cinema at the Provincial Public Library. Future programming is scheduled to include literature, Ukrainian folk music combined with electronic elements, and reporting sessions featuring Wojciech Tochman.
