Police in Elbasan have conducted several operations targeting illegal weapons, narcotics, and violence.

In early August, the Elbasan Police Department and the DVP Special Operational Force executed two operations, “Last Fire” and “Mbikëqyrja”. The first resulted in the detention of a 43-year-old man suspected of setting fire to multiple vehicles. The second led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man for the illegal possession and production of firearms and ammunition, as well as drug trafficking involving suspected cocaine.

Later in the month, a 41-year-old man was arrested in the Visarion Xhuvani neighborhood after allegedly threatening four members of the Operational Force with an imitation firearm. The confrontation occurred while officers were attempting to apprehend the suspect's brother, who is wanted for the illegal possession of weapons, explosives, and ammunition.
