Agricultural markets in Poland continue to experience significant price volatility and supply fluctuations. While the overall value of a standard basket of goods at the Bronisze wholesale market saw a slight year-on-year decrease of 1.21%, individual items show extreme volatility.

Domestic vegetable prices have risen by an average of 8.78%. Notable spikes include iceberg lettuce, which doubled in price from 2.50 PLN to 5.00 PLN per unit, and red cabbage, which saw an increase of approximately 85% driven by demand from Western European wholesalers for cold storage. Greenhouse tomatoes also experienced a 66.67% price increase, alongside a 66.67% rise for Hungarian plums.

In contrast, the price of imported fruit has dropped by over 15%. Significant reductions were observed in lemons (down 40%), imported plums (down 42.86%), and apricots (down 33.33%).

New developments in the pear sector show that industrial processors are resuming purchases as the Conference pear harvest begins. However, market rates have declined from early August levels of 0.60–0.65 PLN/kg to approximately 0.50 PLN/kg in early September. This decrease is attributed to an abundance of smaller fruit. Janusz Kamiński of Kamfruit noted that while small pears are abundant, there is uncertainty regarding whether supply will increase drastically at these lower rates.

Overall market activity has faced a seasonal slowdown at the start of the school year, as consumer spending shifts toward school supplies, impacting the demand for fresh produce.
