Sources: 4. Developments: 2. Polish municipalities are expanding childcare and preschool infrastructure through various national and European funding programs. In Gmina Golina, an investment of approximately 1.7 million PLN was announced for the ‘Kącik Krasnala – Gminny Klub Malucha’ project. Funded by the ‘Active Toddler 2022–2029’ program via the National Recovery Plan (KPO), the initiative aims to create 24 new places for children up to age three, including support for those with disabilities. Subsequent developments saw the opening of new facilities in Pogwizdów and Ostrow Lubelski. The Pogwizdów nursery and preschool complex received over 7 million PLN from the ‘Aktywny Maluch 2022–2029’ program, supplemented by 3 million PLN from the European Funds for Social Development (FERS) to cover initial operating costs. This expansion contributes to a regional trend in Podkarpacie, where nursery availability has increased and the number of municipalities lacking such services has significantly declined. In Ostrow Lubelski, a new modern nursery and preschool building was also inaugurated to enhance early childhood education and care. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: New childcare and preschool facilities open in Pogwizdów and Ostrow Lubelski New nursery and preschool facilities have opened in Pogwizdów and Ostrow Lubelski, supported by regional infrastructure investments and European funds to expand childcare access in Poland. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/new-childcare-and-preschool-facilities-open-in-pogwizdw-and-ostrow-lubelski ### 2026-09-23: Gmina Golina to invest 1.6 million PLN in new childcare club Gmina Golina is investing over 1.6 million PLN to establish a new childcare club, providing 24 spots for children under three to support local families and parental employment. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/gmina-golina-to-invest-16-million-pln-in-new-childcare-club --- Cite as: Polish municipal childcare infrastructure expansion.
