On 2 August 2026 a 36‑year‑old motorcyclist crashed on the S5 bridge near Modliszew; despite intensive resuscitation he died in hospital. A separate collision on 31 July in the village of Motyl near Wieluń involved a 46‑year‑old cyclist and a tractor‑trailer; both parties were sober and the case is under police investigation.

Additional incidents reported in the same period include a 45‑year‑old man who jumped from the Solina Dam into the reservoir on 21 July; the case was closed as a suicide with no third‑party involvement.
