Initially, an 8-year-old student in Acre drew attention for wearing a political headpiece during a school event. The accessory depicted former President Jair Bolsonaro and his allies at the top, while President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was shown at the bottom in a striped prisoner uniform. Subsequently, viral images of children at political rallies have fueled debate during the presidential election cycle. In Natal, a photograph of a young girl in white holding the Brazilian Constitution became a focal point of social media discussion. This was contrasted with a video from Parnamirim showing a 9-year-old boy holding objects resembling weapons during a mobilization for supporters of Flávio Bolsonaro. While the boy’s mother stated the object was a toy and she was unaware of his attendance, local authorities in Rio Grande do Norte have opened an investigation into the incident. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: Brazil election: Viral image of girl with Constitution sparks debate A viral image of a girl holding the Brazilian Constitution at a Lula rally in Natal is being contrasted with a video of a child with a toy weapon at a Bolsonaro-aligned event in Parnamirim. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/brazil-election-viral-image-of-girl-with-constitution-sparks-debate ### 2026-10-07: Brazil student wears political headpiece for school event An 8-year-old student in Acre, Brazil, used a school 'crazy hair day' to express political views, wearing a headpiece featuring imagery of Jair Bolsonaro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/brazil-student-wears-political-headpiece-for-school-event --- Cite as: Political symbolism involving children in Brazil.
