Polish passenger carrier POLREGIO has undertaken several initiatives to modernize its operations and support the railway sector. In August 2026, the company signed contracts exceeding 5 million PLN to equip 34 electric vehicles with the GSM-R digital radio communication system. This technology is part of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and is intended to facilitate secure communication between drivers and traffic controllers.

Following these technical upgrades, POLREGIO expanded its focus to human capital by awarding scholarships to eight high-achieving students. Through collaborations with 23 educational institutions, the company aims to attract talent to the industry. President Andrzej Pawłowski noted that such programs and school cooperation are “a key method for attracting talented and passionate individuals to the railway industry.”
