The Mayor of Poços de Caldas, Paulo Ney de Castro Júnior, has issued a decree extending the administrative intervention at the Fundação Jardim Botânico for an additional 90 days. This represents the fourth extension of the measure.

The intervention was initiated following a report from the General Prosecutor's Office regarding “management irregularities” within the entity. During this period, Stefano Albino Zincone, the municipal Secretary of the Environment, holds the role of interim president and interventor with full powers to implement corrective actions. 

As part of this process, the mandates of the Foundation's Fiscal and Curatorial councils have been suspended. A support commission involving municipal secretaries and representatives from the Prosecutor's Office and the Environment Department has been formed to provide technical assistance. Furthermore, the Foundation is undergoing a comprehensive audit covering its finances, contracts, personnel, and administrative acts.
