The autumn edition of the Popsophia festival, themed ‘Contrasti’, is currently underway in Pesaro, Italy, running through November 7. The event explores polarities in contemporary life, seeking to use the tension between opposing forces to foster dialogue and transformation rather than destruction. Artistic director Lucrezia Ercoli introduced this concept by referencing Heraclitus, framing conflict as a means to achieve equilibrium and embrace complexity. The program features various meetings, musical tributes, and virtual reality projects held at venues including the Auditorium Scavolini, Palazzo Gradari, and Centro Arti Visive Pescheria. Notable sessions include a “philoshow” focused on Bob Dylan, led by Ercoli and critic Carlo Massarini, which examined his musical evolution and Nobel Prize in Literature. Other tributes include “Somebody to Love,” an homage to Freddie Mercury that explores the contrast between theatrical performance and poetic lyricism. Local business association CNA continues its support, linking cultural reflection to economic issues. The partnership addresses how small and medium-sized enterprises manage tensions between tradition and digitalization, local identity and international markets, and established craftsmanship versus new generational entry. ## Timeline ### 2026-11-06: Popsophia festival begins in Pesaro with theme of contrasts The Popsophia festival has opened in Pesaro, Italy, exploring the intersection of philosophy and pop culture through the theme of “Contrasts,” featuring a dedicated philoshow on Bob Dylan. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/popsophia-festival-begins-in-pesaro-with-theme-of-contrasts ### 2026-11-04: Popsophia festival returns to Pesaro with theme of contrasts The Popsophia festival returns to Pesaro, Italy, with an autumn edition themed “Contrasts,” featuring philosophical discussions and musical tributes to Bob Dylan and Freddie Mercury. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/popsophia-festival-returns-to-pesaro-with-theme-of-contrasts ### 2026-10-26: Popsophia festival events sell out in Pesaro The Popsophia festival's autumn edition in Pesaro has sold out its main philoshows and exhibitions following a massive surge in reservation requests from across Italy. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/popsophia-festival-events-sell-out-in-pesaro --- Cite as: Popsophia festival in Pesaro.
