Porsche is marking the 30th anniversary of the Boxster model, which was instrumental in the company’s economic recovery following its 1996 series production debut.

In connection with anniversary celebrations, Manthey Racing has unveiled two limited-edition race cars: the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30. Production for each model is limited to 15 units.

Porsche AG has increased its stake in Manthey Racing GmbH to 67 percent, a move described as a central component of the company’s new “Sportwagenschmiede ’35” strategy and the establishment of its “Home of Sports Cars” organizational concept. This strategic shift aims to prioritize high-margin exclusivity and personalization over mass-market production volumes.

The expanded collaboration will integrate three core pillars: Performance through Manthey’s engineering, Exclusiveness via bespoke programs such as Sonderwunsch and Exclusive Manufaktur, and Heritage. Future efforts will focus on developing “few-off” ultra-limited special models, expanding Manthey performance kits for road-legal vehicles, and offering exclusive track experiences.

Manthey Racing, based near the Nürburgring, brings a significant competitive history to the partnership, including seven overall wins at the Nürburgring 24 Hours and six class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since 2020, the two companies have collaborated on nine different ‘Manthey Kits’ for models including the 911, 718, and the Taycan Turbo GT.
