The Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) is developing the Porto Innovation and Technology Community Hub (PITCH), a large-scale initiative designed to establish a metropolitan innovation and technology ecosystem. However, the project has expanded to a metropolitan scale involving multiple municipalities. In addition to Matosinhos, which faces competition from the Maia municipality, other regions including Gondomar and Valongo have expressed interest in hosting various components of the hub.
