The Alentejo coast is set to host the inaugural Portugal Legends Championship from October 30 to November 1 at the Pinheirinho Golf Course in Comporta. As part of the Staysure Legends Tour for professional golfers over 50, the event is expected to feature international legends such as Michael Campbell and Paul McGinley. This tournament marks the international debut of the Pinheirinho course and aims to position the Alentejo region as a distinct golfing destination.

Additionally, Turismo do Algarve is participating in the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands to promote the Algarve region to female golfers and fans. The initiative seeks to highlight the area’s gastronomy, nature, culture, and wellness offerings to reduce seasonal tourism dependency.
