Portugal is implementing various professional training programs to enhance expertise within its hospitality and tourism sectors.

In early October, initiatives were announced including the Plansel International Wine School’s WSET Level 1 and 2 training sessions at the Hotel Vila Vita Parc in Algarve, and the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto’s ‘Saber Servir, Vender Melhor’ program, which provides free training on Port wine service across multiple regions.

By mid-October, additional regional developments were reported in Algarve. In Silves, the municipality, Turismo de Portugal, and the Portimão School of Hotel and Tourism launched the ‘Formação + Próxima’ program, offering free certified training in areas such as artificial intelligence for SMEs, emotional intelligence, and social media marketing. The WSET wine certification courses in Porches were also confirmed to proceed in mid-November.
