Agricultural fairs in Portugal are preparing for upcoming editions. The Agrovouga fair in Aveiro is scheduled for October 14 to 18, 2026, with a focus on agriculture, livestock, forestry, and gastronomy. Due to sanitary precautions following cases of contagious nodular dermatosis in Spain, organizers have decided that bovine animals will not be present at the event to prevent the concentration of animals from different farms. This decision, described as a “prudent attitude,” will result in a more central role for the equestrian sector and indigenous breeds.

In Beja, the Ovibeja agricultural fair is scheduled for April 21 to 25, 2027. Organized by the Association of Southern Farmers (ACOS), the event will follow the theme “The soil that the EARTH gives us.” The fair is being redesigned into a new format to promote the agricultural sector and will include new contests for high-quality regional products alongside existing competitions for wine and extra virgin olive oil.
