Municipalities across Portugal have begun organizing and announcing various holiday festivities and Christmas markets for the upcoming season.

In late October, Abrantes opened applications for its Christmas Market and New Year’s Eve celebrations, providing space for local artisans and merchants. Seia also initiated registration for its December market, which features regional and international crafts. 

By early November, Elvas and Alcácer do Sal unveiled their specific programming. Elvas announced the “Elvas, Cidade Natal” event, which includes decorative lighting, a Christmas fair, an ice rink, and carousels. Alcácer do Sal, along with Torrão and Comporta, scheduled festivities including a Christmas Market, an ice rink, a book fair, and traditional boat tours on the Sado River.

Additionally, the 10th Viana do Castelo Theater Festival has been announced in Portugal, featuring several theatrical productions.
