Croatian writer Vedrana Rudan, who passed away on August 18, 2026, following a long illness, has been honored with the release of a final book titled ‘Kao da me ima’ (As If I Am Here).

Prepared in collaboration with her son, Slaven Hrvatin, the collection serves as a career retrospective spanning nearly three decades, from the late 1990s to 2026. The work includes significant texts originally published in Feral Tribune, Nacional, and her personal blog, covering themes such as social and feminist provocation, politics, family, and aging.

The project was initiated during Rudan’s two-year battle with incurable cancer to provide a distraction from her medical treatments. Published by Laguna, the book aims to showcase her signature voice, which ranges from “humorous and witty to brutal and deeply personal.”
