Postmedia is modifying its journalism delivery model in Northern Ontario. The North Bay Nugget and the Sudbury Star will transition to new digital platforms intended to prioritize local and regional news.

As part of this change, the standalone print edition of the North Bay Nugget will cease publication on October 31. This transition includes the closure of Postmedia’s printing operation in North Bay, which is expected to affect 11 employees in printing and distribution. To replace the print product, a new weekly publication titled ‘Northern News This Week’ will be introduced in November and delivered to subscribers via mail.
