Power Slap held its first Texas event at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, strategically timed to coincide with a collegiate sports weekend at Texas Tech University. Founder Dana White stated the location was chosen to target the demographic of college sports fans.

The event featured several championship bouts. In the light heavyweight division, Ron ‘Wolverine’ Bata retained his title after Logan ‘Kill Shot’ Greenhalgh was disqualified in the fifth round for flinching. In the welterweight division, Cole ‘Born Again’ Young secured a first-round TKO victory over Andrew ‘Big Bad Wolf’ Provost to defend his championship.

Former UFC heavyweight Chris ‘Beast Boy’ Barnett made his Power Slap debut during the event. Barnett won a unanimous decision against Jake Logan, with judges scoring the match 29-28. Although Logan won the coin toss and landed an initial strike, Barnett absorbed the impact and secured the win after the contest proceeded through three rounds.
