Czech travelers are increasingly using shared mobility services, such as Lime, in major European cities like London, Berlin, and Paris. In these cities, users have completed nearly 20,000 trips, covering almost 50,000 kilometers with an average trip duration of 13 minutes.

In Prague, cycling remains a common mode of transport, with nearly half the population cycling at least once a month. While some bike counters initially showed a decline in ridership on specific paths, such as the Atletická route and the Rokytka path, experts attributed these drops to construction-related detours and technical issues with the counters. Subsequent data from the Technical Road Administration (TSK) indicates that after adjusting for counter failures and route closures, cycling traffic actually saw a 0.4 percent increase.

Prague has expanded its cycling infrastructure to approximately 550 kilometers of marked routes, including 18 kilometers of routes separated from motor traffic and an increase in two-way cycling lanes. 

To further enhance urban mobility, the Prague city council has approved a CZK 50 million tender to expand the city’s bikesharing service. Starting in 2027, residents using the PID Lítačka transport app with a valid long-term public transit pass will have their free daily limit doubled from two to four 15-minute rides, capped at ten free rides per week. The new plan includes a subsidy system to incentivize operators to provide more bikes in peripheral areas and aims to partner with up to three different operators to foster competition while implementing stricter rules to prevent bikes from obstructing pedestrians.
