Sources: 45. Developments: 2. Premier League clubs continue to manage various injury concerns and squad availability ahead of upcoming fixtures. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to face each other at Old Trafford this Saturday, October 10, 2026, for a Matchday 6 fixture. Both clubs are experiencing difficult starts to the 2026/27 season. Manchester United, managed by Michael Carrick, currently sits 12th in the league with five points from five matches. The team has recently faced challenges including a loss to Manchester City and a Carabao Cup exit to Brighton. Tottenham, led by Roberto De Zerbi, occupies the bottom of the table with two points and no wins in five games, marking the club’s worst start to a league campaign on record. The upcoming match is viewed as a vital opportunity for both managers to stabilize their positions; a victory for United could alleviate pressure on Carrick, while a win for Tottenham could provide a turning point for De Zerbi’s side. Squad availability has seen recent shifts following the international break. Manchester United will be without Benjamin Sesko and Patrick Dorgu, while Noussair Mazraoui remains a doubt. However, Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amad Diallo have returned to training, and summer signing Carlos Baleba is progressing in his recovery and is expected to feature, potentially providing a boost to the midfield. United may also be without Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, and Tom Heaton. Tottenham Hotspur has received positive news regarding defenders Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke, both of whom are available for selection. Regarding Van Hecke, the club noted they are mindful of the emotional aspect of his recent news following the birth of his twins. However, James Maddison has reportedly suffered a minor setback in training, which may limit his involvement. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-08: Manchester United and Tottenham face injury updates ahead of Premier League clash Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur receive mixed injury updates ahead of their Premier League match, with key players returning for both sides despite some minor setbacks. 16 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/premier-league-clubs-face-injury-concerns-ahead-of-weekend-fixtures ### 2026-10-08: Manchester United hosts Tottenham at Old Trafford amid early season struggles Manchester United faces Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in a crucial Premier League clash as both teams struggle near the bottom of the table following the international break. 33 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/manchester-united-and-tottenham-face-off-amid-difficult-seasons --- Cite as: Premier League club injury and squad updates.
