Developments: 3. The participants for the Premier Sports Cup final on December 13 have been determined through two semi final matches at Hampden Park. Rangers secured their place in the final after a 1-0 victory against Aberdeen. Ryan Naderi scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute by redirecting a low shot from James Penrice past goalkeeper Marius Müller. The match included scrutiny regarding a high, studs-up challenge by Rangers player James Penrice in the first half. Former referee Keith Hackett suggested the challenge should have resulted in a red card, noting it appeared to endanger his opponent, though referee Ryan Lee and VAR did not intervene. Hibernian will face Rangers in the final after defeating Hearts 2-1. Despite an early goal from Claudio Braga, Hibernian completed a comeback with goals from Martin Boyle and Jamie McGrath. The victory marks the first win for new Hibernian manager Marink Reedijk and ends Hearts' streak of four consecutive wins against Hibernian at Hampden Park. ## Timeline ### 2026-11-04: Rangers and Aberdeen compete in Premier Sports Cup semi-final Rangers and Aberdeen met in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden Park, featuring tactical shifts and early injuries. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/rangers-and-aberdeen-compete-in-premier-sports-cup-semi-final ### 2026-11-01: Hibernian defeat Hearts to reach Premier Sports Cup final Hibernian defeated Hearts 2-1 in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden Park, booking a spot in the final against Rangers. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/hibernian-defeat-hearts-to-reach-premier-sports-cup-final ### 2026-10-31: Rangers reach Premier Sports Cup final after defeating Aberdeen Ryan Naderi scored a late goal to lead Rangers to a 1-0 win over Aberdeen, securing their spot in the Premier Sports Cup final. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/rangers-reach-premier-sports-cup-final-after-defeating-aberdeen --- Cite as: Premier Sports Cup final participants.
