The film ‘Colegas e o Herdeiro’, directed by Marcelo Galvão, premiered on August 13 across more than 250 Cinemark theaters in Brazil. A sequel to the 2012 award-winning film ‘Colegas’, the comedy-drama follows a group of young people from the Instituto Santa Lúcia on a clandestine journey to Punta del Este, Uruguay. 

The plot centers on the character Stalone, played by Ariel Goldenberg, who believes he is the heir to a hotel. This leads to a dispute with Magrelo, an autistic young man raised by the hotel owner, and an adventure involving gemstone smugglers.

Emphasizing inclusivity, the production features 70 actors with various disabilities, including Down syndrome, autism, and Williams syndrome. The film’s world premiere took place at the 49th São Paulo International Film Festival. Notable cast members include Luiza Godoi, whose performance has received recognition at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival.

To mark the release, Cinemark hosted a ‘Sessão Azul’ on August 15, a special screening for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families featuring reduced sound and dimmed lights. The production is a collaboration between H2O Films, Gatacine, and Globo Filmes.
