The celebration seeks to engage journalists, government officials, diplomats, and civil society representatives to discuss the role of independent media in supporting democratic institutions and national development. In addition to discussing journalists' welfare, press freedom, and professional ethics, the PUL intends to release a report from the National Media Council of Liberia concerning recent ethical breaches and infringements on press freedom.
