Primark has announced the launch of its first free clothing repair workshops in Portugal. Scheduled to begin on October 21 at the Colombo Center store in Lisbon, the initiative is part of the company’s ‘Primark Cares’ sustainability strategy.

Led by instructors from the Maria Modista sewing school, the sessions are designed for all experience levels. Participants will learn various techniques, including hand sewing, replacing buttons, adding pockets, embroidery, and upcycling, with the goal of extending the lifespan of garments. Attendees are set to receive a sewing kit, a repair guide, and a reusable cloth bag. 

This program follows similar successful efforts across other European markets, where the retailer has reportedly conducted over 400 sessions and provided more than 7,000 spots for customers and employees.
