Professional cyclist Primož Roglič has maintained a high level of competitive and philanthropic activity in Slovenia. Following his European Championship victory, where he expressed the emotional significance of hearing the national anthem at home, Roglič hosted the fifth ‘Golden Loop’ charity ride. Organized by his foundation in partnership with OTP Bank, the 61-kilometer event between Maribor and Ptuj saw approximately 500 participants, including notable figures like Peter Prevc and Jakov Fak, to support children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

As Roglič prepares to depart the Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe team at the end of 2026, speculation regarding his professional future has intensified. While the veteran has expressed a desire to continue racing, he has also admitted to the possibility of retirement.

Several teams have emerged as potential suitors for the multi-time Grand Tour winner. Visma | Lease a Bike has reportedly inquired about his future, which could signal a return to the team where he secured his Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España titles. Other teams mentioned in connection with Roglič include Lotto-Intermarche and Tudor Pro Cycling. Additionally, Unibet Rose Rockets founder Bas Tietema acknowledged previous contact, noting that a rider of Roglič’s caliber would be a “significant asset,” though any move remains dependent on the cyclist’s decision regarding his career longevity.
