Princess Amalia of the Netherlands has been promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Royal Netherlands Navy. The promotion ceremony occurred on October 17, 2026, in the port of Den Helder aboard the sailing ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl.

The promotion follows the completion of a naval course and a week-long voyage alongside first-year midshipmen. This milestone is part of her ongoing military education through the Defensity College program, which she began in 2025. During the ceremony, the 22-year-old princess participated in the tradition of being doused with seawater in front of her fellow cadets.

This marks her second promotion in 2026, following her promotion to corporal in January after completing General Military Training. Her military training has previously included roles within the Defense Staff and the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
