In September 2026, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and social media influencer Akriti Agarwal announced the end of their engagement. Agarwal stated via Instagram that the separation was a mutual decision resulting from ‘different goals and circumstances for our future.’

Approximately 25 days later, the couple announced they had reconciled and decided to resume their relationship. Agarwal explained that her previous decision to end the engagement was influenced by the opinions of people close to her, stating, ‘I feel I was misguided, and I made a decision without giving us the honest conversation we deserved.’ Following open communication, the couple chose to move forward together. Agarwal emphasized that they want their future to be guided by their own ‘understanding, trust, and love’ rather than outside influence, and requested privacy as they begin again.
