The science fiction comedy film ‘Almost You’ is currently in production in Glasgow. Directed by Matt Lipsey, the film stars James McAvoy, Juno Temple, and Joey King.

The plot centers on Phoebe, a robotics engineer who uses social media data to create a lifelike AI replica of her deceased sister, Edie, in violation of her employer’s protocols. While the technology initially offers comfort, the story explores the ethical implications of using AI to resurrect the dead. Director Matt Lipsey has noted that the film treats the technology as a contemporary concern rather than a distant future possibility, aiming to balance laughter with heartbreak.
