New professional development and technology incubation initiatives have been launched in Portugal.

Comboios de Portugal (CP) introduced the second edition of its CPTrainUP trainee program, targeting master’s students and recent graduates for a 12-month program starting in January 2027. The initiative focuses on strategic railway sectors, providing mentorship and technical training in fields such as engineering, IT, management, and law.

Additionally, the BSC AI Factory has opened applications for a free incubation program in Porto. Running from October 2026 to March 2027, the program supports startups and SMEs developing artificial intelligence solutions, with priority given to sectors such as health, biotechnology, agriculture, energy, and finance.
