Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro has experienced significant professional growth following his second-place finish in the 2025 Giro d'Italia. This performance triggered a contract clause with UAE Team Emirates that triples his salary to an estimated 2.5 million dollars annually.

As del Toro continues his career, he is targeting the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. While he is currently Mexico’s top UCI point contributor, qualification depends on Mexico accumulating sufficient national UCI points through October 2027.

In October 2026, del Toro prepared to defend his title at the Gran Piemonte in Italy. Entering the race following a fifth-place finish at the Road Cycling World Championships, he aimed to navigate the 185-kilometer undulating course representing UAE Team Emirates.
