Taiwanese company ProLogium Technology has commenced mass production of its Generation 3.5 Lithium Ceramic Battery (LCB) at its facility in Taoyuan. The large-format 185.4 Ah cells are designed for high-power and fast-charging applications in electric vehicles.

Third-party testing has verified the battery’s performance metrics. TÜV Rheinland confirmed a gravimetric energy density of 381 Wh/kg and a volumetric energy density of 903 Wh/L. Additionally, UL Solutions verified the cell against Chinese standards, noting a mass loss of less than 0.05% after six hours at 120 °C under vacuum, which meets the requirements for solid-state classification.

The Gen 3.5 battery utilizes the proprietary Logithium architecture, which combines a ceramic separator with a specialized peripheral frame structure. While the Taoyuan plant currently operates at a pilot-scale annual capacity of 0.5 GWh, the company is also developing a Gen 4 battery that will utilize a fully inorganic superfluidized electrolyte.
