Sources: 6. Developments: 2. Residents of the Jardines del Sur neighborhood in Córdoba, Veracruz, are protesting to demand legal certainty for 103 families. The community claims they purchased lots over 20 years ago via direct sales contracts and have paid in full, but remain unable to obtain official deeds. Protesters allege that an individual named Daniel Trujillo González, representing an association, is demanding excessive payments of up to 70,000 pesos per lot to facilitate the deed process. Tensions increased after Trujillo González reportedly used heavy machinery to clear trees in a green area of the settlement, claiming ownership rights. In response to these developments, affected families have filed an administrative complaint with the Judicial Discipline Tribunal of the State of Veracruz against former judge Gustavo González Lazcano, alleging “irregularities and omissions” in judicial proceedings related to the land. The residents are calling for state and municipal intervention to resolve the conflict. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-30: Córdoba residents protest alleged land fraud and extortion Families in Córdoba, Veracruz, are protesting against alleged land fraud and extortion involving 103 properties in the Jardines del Sur neighborhood, seeking legal intervention to secure their deeds. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/crdoba-residents-protest-alleged-land-fraud-and-extortion ### 2026-09-15: Córdoba families receive property deeds after decades of legal disputes Families in Córdoba's Villa El Libertador and Comercial neighborhoods are finally receiving property deeds following a decades-long legal battle and a criminal investigation into land fraud. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/crdoba-families-receive-property-deeds-after-decades-of-legal-disputes --- Cite as: Property rights disputes in Córdoba, Veracruz.
