The 49th Provincial Immigrant Festival in Berisso, Argentina, concluded on October 11 with a traditional closing parade on Montevideo Avenue. Organized by the Association of Foreign Entities of Berisso with municipal support, the 45-day event celebrated cultural diversity through music, dance, and gastronomy.

Despite rain during the final procession, various groups participated, including a delegation of approximately 60 people from the Armenian community of Berisso and La Plata. The festival featured representatives from several collectives, including Germany, Armenia, Croatia, Ireland, Ukraine, and Cape Verde.

A central highlight of the festivities was the election of cultural representatives at the Parque Cívico. Facundo Trabella of the Polish community was named Cultural Ambassador, and Sebastián Sproviero Bufi of the Albanian community was chosen as Vice Ambassador. The selection, overseen by a panel of experts in anthropology, history, dance, and choreography, was attended by Mayor Fabián Cagliardi, Association of Foreign Entities president Irina Oslovsky, and HCD president Aldana Iovanovich.

The election process had been marked by controversy regarding a tie between the German and Polish representatives. Jury member Luis Podestá reported that while the jury initially favored the German candidate, a dispute arose concerning a ‘three-second time excess’ during the German participant’s dance performance, a claim reportedly raised by local officials.
