Aran Murphy, the 19-year-old son of actor Cillian Murphy and artist Yvonne McGuinness, has gained significant social media attention following appearances at the London and New York premieres of the HBO series ‘Youth’.

While the events were intended to promote the comedy series, in which Aran plays the character Ruairí—the 18-year-old son of a character portrayed by Sharon Horgan—public focus shifted toward his “striking physical resemblance” to his father. Observers and social media users have noted an “uncanny resemblance,” citing similarities in facial features, mannerisms, gestures, and vocal tones.

Aran is establishing an acting career with credits including ‘Lola’ and ‘Hamnet’. His upcoming projects include roles in Taika Waititi’s ‘Klara and the Sun’, alongside Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega, and the HBO/Sky production ‘War’, featuring Sienna Miller and Dominic West.

Although he has recently entered the professional spotlight, his family—which moved from London to Dublin in 2015 to ensure their children grew up with Irish accents—has historically maintained a level of privacy regarding their children.
