The Zoonosis department is conducting decentralized operations to provide free sterilization, rabies vaccination, and deworming for pets. A mobile operating room is scheduled to be stationed at Plaza Carlos Gardel on Tuesday, October 13, with 25 sterilization slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the Directorate of Quality of Life has scheduled a week-long preventive fumigation program. These operations will span various neighborhoods, including Villa del Carmen, Siglo XX, Juramento, Congreso, and Mariano Moreno, running from Monday to Friday. To further combat mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya, the municipality is intensifying focal control operations and “descacharreo” (the removal of potential breeding sites) across six neighborhoods. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-12: Municipalities in Argentina launch various public health and animal welfare programs Municipalities across Argentina are rolling out public health campaigns, including mobile veterinary services for sterilization and vaccination, community wellness programs in parks, and mosquito control to 방지뎅 15 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/san-miguel-de-tucumn-implements-animal-health-and-fumigation-programs ### 2026-10-09: Public health initiatives scheduled in Tucumán and Young Health initiatives include a flu vaccination drive in Tucumán, Argentina, and an equine therapy event in Young, Uruguay, both scheduled for Saturday, October 10. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/public-health-initiatives-scheduled-in-tucumn-and-young --- Cite as: Public health initiatives in San Miguel de Tucumán.
