In the Thrissur district of Kerala, three men—identified as Jinson Jose, Jishnu, and Vivek—were arrested for the alleged poaching, killing, and consumption of a python.

Forest officials reported that the suspects discovered the snake near their home in Cherukunnu but did not contact authorities or a licensed handler. Instead, they allegedly captured the animal alive, killed it, and cooked the meat to consume with friends. Following an investigation by the Mannamangalam Forest Station, the individuals underwent medical examinations and were brought before a court to face legal proceedings regarding the wildlife crime.
