QantasLink is transitioning its fleet from Fokker F100 aircraft to Embraer E190 jets to improve fuel efficiency and reliability.

As part of this transition, the airline donated its retired Fokker F100, named ‘Meekatharra’, to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) to serve as a public exhibit. The aircraft had logged over 11,250 flight hours and served regional Western Australian communities since 2016.

The fleet renewal program has commenced with the arrival of the first Embraer E190 in Perth. This 100-seat jet completed a long-distance ferry flight from the United Kingdom. The airline plans to introduce up to 14 mid-life E190 aircraft to replace the aging Fokker fleet used for Western Australian resource charter operations, with commercial service expected to begin in January 2027.
