Queensland police have conducted various operations targeting drug possession, dangerous driving, and illegal weapons across the state.

In late July, Operation Yankee Surplus focused on the Far North Queensland region through roadside checks in Kuranda and Cairns. This initiative resulted in numerous traffic infringements, including charges for drink and drug driving. Concurrently, criminal investigation branches executed search warrants in towns such as Tolga and Ravenshoe, leading to the seizure of methamphetamine and cannabis.

By early August, investigations by the Tactical Crime Squad shifted focus toward illegal weaponry and narcotics. Raids in Deception Bay led to the discovery of handguns disguised as mobile phones, alongside various drugs and a stolen motorcycle. Additional raids near Ipswich and west of Brisbane resulted in the seizure of homemade firearms, crossbows, and silencers.
